Review | Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipstick

| Hot Pepper & Pink Pong - £8.99 each |

Today I am reviewing the 'Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet' lipstick in 'Hot Pepper' and 'Pink Pong'. Yes, I jumped on the bandwagon. I was curious to see what all the fuss was about. Do I regret it? No!

Application:

The formula is soft and silky and I find one application is enough as it's very opaque and pigmented. The doe-foot applicator works extremely well and applies very evenly. The lipstick itself is matte but it doesn't dry out lips at all which is a big bonus as I usually find matte lipsticks quite drying. Another pro is this lipstick literally lasts all day! I applied it at around 10am and after two meals and drinks it hasn't budged at all.

The colours:

  • Pink Pong - a bright, pinky purple fuchsia (perfect for all seasons)
  • Hot Pepper - bright orangey-red colour (amazing for Summer)
I chose these colours because they really stand out to me and I don't have any colours like this in my collection. Others in the collection: 'Frambourjois', 'Peach Club', 'Ole Flamingo!' and 'Nude-ist!'.

Overall thoughts:

I adore these! Everything is positive from the vibrant colours to the smooth application. I am definitely going to repurchase and would really like to see more colours being added to the collection. 10/10 from me!

Have you tried these? Thanks for reading,

Benefit 'Watts Up' Highlighter

Benefit 'Watts Up' Highlighter, £24.50

Watts Up is a popular product of Benefit and there has been a lot of hype around it in the beauty and blogging community. The packaging is a shiny, double ended purple chrome tube which is in the shape of a light bulb. On one end there is the highlighter product that is in a twist up tube, and on the other is a sponge applicator. I personally am not a fan of the sponge as I find it very hard to blend the product to give off a natural finish. I have also found that it is not a good applicator to use when applying the highlighter after finishing face based makeup as I find it removes foundation that has been previously applied.

The highlighter is a slightly peachy champagne colour with small glitter particles in. Although glittery highlighters aren't to everyone's taste, when the product is blended out it is a faint, glowy sheen with a very small amount of sparkle so it's not over the top. Benefit describe the product as a 'cream to powder finish' and I found this to be true. I apply this product straight from the tube onto my cheekbones and brow bone before blending it into the skin with my Real Techniques contour brush as I find this brush is easy to use with highlighters.

Overall, I am happy with the product as it is simple to use, instantly adds light and a pretty glow to the skin. It is a perfect highlighter for the Spring and Summer and in my opinion it is worth the retail price of £24.50.

What are your views on this highlighter?

Fujifilm Instax Mini 8

Fujifilm Instax Mini 8, £56

A few months ago I was kindly gifted the Instax Mini 8 in pink. Ever since I was a little girl I have been fascinated with Polaroid cameras because they look so fun to use and after getting my hands on this I was not disappointed.

The camera is so unbelievably easy to use. It comes with settings on the lens, as well as a lens filter that is useful. When aiming the lens at a subject, the camera will choose the optimum setting and this ensures your mini Polaroids are the best possible quality. I would say the only downside is the price of the film as it's priced at around £1 per photo but that is the only negative thing that I have found with this item.

I am so happy I have this little camera in my possession as it's perfect for a camera lover like myself. I adore the unique photo quality, instant processing and the cute little credit sized card photos. This is definitely a must have for the summer months to take on holiday, day trips and capturing fun moments.
